On Sunday, June 11th a group of Valencia County Dems met at Main and Luna in Los Lunas and held a peaceful demonstration in support of Reproductive Rights, Gender Affirming Care, and Equality. We held signs and waved to passers by , spoke to some folks (on both sides of the issues), and provided lunch and cold water to folks that needed it. All in all it was a great success.

To be out in the community in a visible way, standing for our Democratic values is so important. We often see people holding signs with opposing viewpoints, the more you see something in your community, as you run errands, the more it becomes routine, expected, and even as if it belongs.

It is up to us to make sure that what ends up belonging to our communities is love, equality, the right to privacy and reproductive and gender affirming care, and honoring the inherent worth, dignity, and humanity of every person.
