Ms. Jessica Velasquez, the Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM), has issued the following official CALLs for DPNM Post-Primary Conventions:
- CALL to the three DPNM 2024 District-Level Post-Primary Conventions, to be held virtually on Saturday, June 15th, 2024
- CALL to the DPNM 2024 Statewide Post-Primary Convention, to be held in-person on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024.
PURPOSE of the DPNM DISTRICT-LEVEL and STATEWIDE POST-PRIMARY CONVENTIONS
The purpose of the three virtual District-Level Post-Primary Conventions is for county post-primary delegates to elect District-Level DNC National Convention delegates. Each county post-primary delegate will vote for national-delegate candidates running within their own congressional district.
The purpose of the in-person Statewide Post-Primary Convention is for all county post-primary delegates to elect more DNC National Convention delegates (PLEO delegates, At-Large delegates, and Alternate Delegates).
- At the District-Level and Statewide Post-Primary Conventions, each county post-primary delegate will pledge to support one presidential candidate.
- Each county delegate will then vote for those national-delegate candidates who have pledged to support the same presidential candidate that the county delegate has pledged to support.
