On Wednesday, April 7, 2022, a defining historic event occurred. Americans witnessed the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

This is a day marked in history that will not be forgotten. We will forever remember how we felt. We will remember the excitement and how we held our breath as we experienced the monumental vote continuing as each US Senator voted.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is clearly beyond qualified. During the hearing she repeatedly demonstrated that she is a pillar of strength and an excellent role model for all women and girls around the world.

She rose above the bigotry that was demonstrated by her opponents, and her composure even served to win over three Republicans who cast affirmative votes, thus making her confirmation bipartisan.

Our country has moved one more step forward toward our quest to truly be a republic of equality, liberty, and justice for all!

Please note that our Vice President Kamala Harris presided over this bold and riveting vote. Therefore, we must acknowledge President Joe Biden for selecting these two phenomenal women to fill such paramount positions. He has demonstrated his strength and transformational leadership.
